Car Wash & Bake Sale

Kettering Soccer will host a car wash and bake sale on July 15th from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. at Overtyme Grill located at 4724 Dixie Highway in Waterford. All donations will help the Waterford Kettering Boys Varsity and JV Soccer Team.  Go Captains!

Free Children’s Sports Health Fair

Mc Laren Oakland will be hosting a free children’s Sports Health Fair on Saturday, July 29th from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. The event will be held at Mc Laren Oakland Children’s Health Services located at 673 Martin Luther King Blvd. in Pontiac. The program includes food, fun, games, prizes and free sports physicals for Oakland County Youth ages 18 and Younger. Kettering Summer Conditioning

Do you want to increase your speed, strength, and agility?  Are you just looking to get into better shape? Do you want to join a dedicated group that will help you to accomplish your goals? If you answered yes to any of the above questions, then you should plan to participate in this summer’s conditioning program at Waterford Kettering.

Program Details:  The sessions will be on Tuesdays and Fridays throughout the summer. Tuesday will be from 3 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. and Friday sessions will be held from 8;30 a.m. until 10 a.m. The first sessions will start July 11th. All sessions will be held at Waterford Kettering and run by Head Business Coach Mike Malley. The emphasis will be on improving speed, agility, and overall strength and conditioning. This program is open to anyone Middle School aged or above. It is appropriate for both beginners and those with experience in strength and conditioning training. Cost of the program is $50 which includes 16 training sessions in total. A portion of the proceeds from the program fee will go towards purchasing improved equipment. Athletic Department Updates

All Kettering athletic events are done for this school year.

Track and Field: All three Kettering Track and Field athletes who participated in the State Finals at East Kentwood High School on Saturday, June 3 placed high enough in the standings to earn All State Honors! Competing against the best-of-the-best throughout the state, our Captains were outstanding – placing in the Top 8 as detailed below:

Kyle Piotrovsky (Senior) finished 6th place in Shot Put, with the distance of 52-06.25 (Kyle also placed 10th in the state in Discus (149-05).

Olivia O’Brien (Junior) – 6th place in Discus, with the distance of 130-03.

Jessica Mercier (Junior) – 2nd Place – State runner up in Pole Vault, with a personal record of 13 feet.

Congratulations to all three Captains!

Kyle Piotrovsky will be attending and competing for Oakland University next year, and we look forward to another great year for Olivia and Jessica competing for our Kettering Captain Field Team!

2017 Fall Marching Band “Try It Out” Days: Wednesday, June 14th from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. – Waterford Kettering Choir Room

Auditions for 2017 Marching Season will be held on Thursday, June 15th from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. in the Kettering Choir Room.

Marching Band Registration forms due on Friday, June 16th along with $100 deposit.

Drumline and Color Guard Intensive Week – Monday through Friday, July 10 – 14 from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. in the Kettering Music Suite.

Pre-Camp Rehearsal Week: Monday through Friday, July 17 – 21 from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. in the Kettering Music Suite.

Marching Band Camp will be held on Sunday, July 23 through Saturday, July 29 at Little Lake Island Camp in Comstock Park, Michigan.

Kettering 2017 Drumline Auditions

“Try It Out Clinics for all new and returning members will be held on Wednesday, June 14 from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. Drumline audition will be held on Thursday, June 15th from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. in the Band Room at Waterford Kettering High School.
